Based out of Boston, MA, Pro Ambitions Hockey, Inc. is now celebrating 21 years in business. As the founder and president, former NHL player Jeff Serowik has made training the future of hockey his business. Pro Ambitions specializes in youth boys and girls hockey camps held across North America, targeting players from six to eighteen years of age. The camps draw hockey players from around the globe and Pro Ambitions has grown to be the largest hockey school outfit in the world with 4000 campers attending day and boarding/residential camps annually. Jeff was recently inducted into the New Hampshire Hockey Hall of Fame and also runs a charity called Sports Saves Souls to help children deal with adversities through hockey.

When does a typical camp season look like?
Our camp season is May–September, but it takes 9 months to prepare for the actual camps. We run around 300 camps in over 130 rinks annually.

You’ve been an Active Network customer since 2004. What problems were you trying to fix when you originally began looking for a camp software solution?
Everything! We had a very old custom program that didn’t offer any of the functionality we needed.

Why did you choose Active’s camp management software?
Active was the first online company to contact me and the system had the features we were looking for. Each year with Active the technology has gotten better.

What are your favorite features of the software?
We primarily use the system for tracking sign ups. Plus the financial features and communications center are great.

Do you use any of the built-in email tools?
Yes, all the time. The email tools have helped us communicate with our players, parents and the community. I really like using the filters for the contact lists.

Do you use the reporting features?
Yes, the camp reporting is excellent. It gives me all the details for each camp.

Overall, what improvements have you experienced from using Active’s camp management software?
We’ve seen night and day improvements since we began using Active. I couldn’t run the size company I do without it.
