Collecting Balances with a Final Balance Due Date
|
 |
|
Advertising to your registrants that all balances are due on a specific date is an easy way to ensure that you collect all monies owed in a timely, efficient manner. You set the date that all balances are due, and all registrant outstanding balances for 2010 events will automatically be charged on that date. This date will be advertised to your registrants during the registration process and a reminder email will automatically be sent to the registrants one week prior to the balance due date. Registrants will still be able to pay off any balances in advance of the date if they desire, but this will ensure that no registrant owes money once camp starts.
The best way to ensure this is an easy process for your registrants is to pick one date for all of your 2010 events such as June 1, 2010. However, you can set this up to change across multiple dates while working with an implementation analyst.
Benefits:
- Ensures you collect your money
- A significantly lower percentage of campers will owe money after the season is complete.
- Money is delivered to you in advance
- Balance due clients will get money to you before camp starts.
- Saves administrative time
- Billing will automatically complete on the payment due date(s) and no action will be required on your part. During camp check-in you do not have to collect any money or handle admitting campers who have not paid in full.
- Less impactful to registrant if broken up into multiple payments
- Registrants are more likely to sign up for higher price point camps if they can pay it off over time. Balance due reduces the stress of having to worry about when and how to make payments. It also reduces the fear of not getting payment in on time and accruing late fees.
- Money processes quickly and efficiently through the system
- All balances collected through balance due are processed directly through the system and reduces the need for cash or check deposits.
- Registrants expect it
- Registrants have already given authorization during registration. They are expecting their balance to be automatically charged on the payment due date.
If you are interested in utilizing a final balance due date, please contact your Account Manager or your Implementation Analyst during your 2010 setup.

Camarin Flores – Customer Care Account Manager
|
 |
|
I joined Active in 2007 as an Application Support Specialist and was promoted to Customer Care Account Manager in 2008. My primary goal is to improve client satisfaction through support services and product usability. To do this effectively, my goal is to listen in a lot of different ways: I review feedback and comments submitted through Active’s PulseCheck program, the CampRegister product portal, and best of all, by talking with clients directly. I’m also involved with improving support documentation and processes.
I have lots of reasons to love my job! I’m fortunate to work across many different teams – including Support, Implementation, and Product and Development – so every day presents fresh challenges and opportunities. Daily, I am impressed by the extraordinary talent, intelligence and fine humor of my colleagues, who make Active a great place to work. Most of all, I love supporting our clients – all of whom are good people doing good work for the communities they serve. If I can contribute, even in a small way, to the services that our clients provide I feel rewarded, no matter what challenges come my way!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and partner of 11 years, Matthew, and our precocious 4-year-old daughter, Francesca. We are fortunate to have a large network of friends and family in the Seattle area, even though I originally hail from Guam, a very small island in the Pacific. We love this city and in fact, I might be a Seattle stereotype: I recycle everything, drink tons of coffee and drive a Volvo (but carpool of course!). We attend sporting events year-round and are proud inaugural Sounders FC season ticket holders. The music scene here is awesome and even though we’re parents now, we occasionally get to catch a fun local show. As an avid home cook, my perfect Seattle day is picking up fresh local produce and flowers at the market, preparing a meal at home for friends and family, and finishing it off with a nice glass of wine.
